Can you boost your web site traffic today? And I don't mean necessarily by PPC (pay per click) which can be expensive. Here are some ideas and things you can do for little or no cost and get people visiting your site within a few hours.
Blogging - do you have your own blog? If you don't then please set one up today for free at www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com and start getting links to your site. Some links will make traffic, so you have to get the word out about your blog post. What do you do is write a post with keywords related to your topic, and then use ping services to spread the word. Try using www.pingomatic.com and www.pingoat.com that will send your link to lots of blog directories and sites. Web visitors will grow the more posts you make, and how about posting on other peoples blogs so they see your URL and may visit.
Forum posting - there is a forum out there for most subjects and you can usually join for free. To find them just search on Google for your keyword plus the word forum. You can't blatantly promote in your forum post but if you write sensible posts, offer help and advice you are likely to get people check out your site and this can happen for free on the same day.
Article writing - whilst some of the better article directories review your article before they post it to ensure quality some don't, and that means you can get an article with a link to your site visible the same day. Other people pick up on them and put them on your sites all with your author bio box at the bottom linking to your site.
Digg it - Digg is a great site with high page rank and high traffic. Boost your own traffic today by placing links to all of your website pages. If you don't have a web site then set up a free blog and point traffic there.
Email broadcast - you can use some one else's list if you don't have your own. Join www.listdotcom.com for example and you can send out an email. To be honest I find responses are low, but better if I offer something for free.
Joint Ventures - politely ask another list owner in your business if you can form a mutually beneficial partnership and let them promote to your list, or put a banner on your web site. In exchange you get to do the same, but emailing to their list is the most beneficial thing to do and this can bring you a boost to your internet traffic. Make sure you aren't in direct competition with each other. To use a popular example, if you knew a business that sold gold clubs and you sold golf shoes then you have a product that will be of interest but not in direct competition.
